Continuing professional development (CPD)
One of the major benefits of becoming a Studying Member is that you are eligible to sign up free to our programme for continuing professional development (CPD).
What is CPD?
CPD is the means by which members of professional associations maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge and skills and develop the personal qualities required to be successful in their professional lives.
Chartered CPD Programme
Our Chartered CPD Programme provides a focused and logical way for you to keep learning as your career progresses. It benchmarks your skills against our Professional Marketing Standards framework, enables you to identify any gaps in your knowledge and directs you to a range of activities to help overcome them.
Earn 35 hours CPD during your studies
CPD hours can be earned by attending local and regional branch events and seminars, reading selected marketing books, attending CIM training workshops and by studying for CIM qualifications.
Good news! Studying for a qualification means you may claim the full 35 hours that form the annual requirement for the programme.
For each CPD year you successfully complete, you will receive an official evidence of development’ certificate: tangible proof of your ongoing professional development that current and potential employers will recognise.
Step towards Chartered Marketer status
Chartered Marketer status is the mark of an up-to-date, experienced and qualified marketing professional.
It is marketing’s highest grade and is awarded exclusively by The Chartered Institute of Marketing in recognition of outstanding practical experience and expertise.
To be eligible for Chartered Marketer status you must either be a member (MCIM) or a Fellow (FCIM) and you must have satisfied the requirements of the Chartered CPD Programme.
